Retired - travel - gardening - the outdoors - family
Born in the 50’s, Richard grew up in a large, supportive, family environment. “I had a great dad and supportive friends, with male teachers and Scout leaders, to inspire and encourage me …. this has helped to positively “shape” my life through to today.”
“Many boys do not have the same experience that I had growing up. Mentoring and reading for Lads Need Dads has given me the opportunity to be a supportive role model and help the Lads experience what I had in my formative years.”
Richard has been married twice and has raised 2 daughters and 3 sons … with 9 grandchildren between them.
After 50 years working in the communications / IT sector, Richard has now retired and also volunteers with the Essex Wildlife Trust and a local Scout troop.
He has a life-long passion for gardening as well as a wide range of outdoors, challenging, adventurous, activities ….. and supporting Ipswich Town football club.
