Liam is a Director of residential children’s homes, bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to his role. He is deeply committed to improving outcomes for young people – particularly those growing up without consistent father figures – shaped by his own experiences of school exclusion, father absence, and seeing his brother enter the care system.

He holds a Law degree and previously served as a Captain in the Infantry in the British Army, including leading a Platoon in Afghanistan, where he developed young men through discipline, resilience and purpose.

Liam has since worked across children’s residential care and secure youth justice settings, supporting young people with complex needs. He now leads Lighthouse Residential Homes, which he founded to provide safe, stable and high-quality care, recognised as delivering “Excellent” standards.

Alongside this, Liam is a Trustee for Children in Wales and serves as Lead Safeguarding Trustee, as well as an Adult Panel Advisor to the Children’s Commissioner for Wales. His work focuses on safeguarding, child development and leadership, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and service quality.

Above all, Liam considers his most important role to be being a father, believing that parenting is the most important leadership role in society.
