Ex Royal Air Force

Hi, I’m Matt and I work for Barclaycard as a Relationship Manager looking after a portfolio of Multinational Corporate accounts. I recently left the military where I served just under 13 years in the Royal Air Force designing, repairing and maintaining specialist Survival Equipment before I trained to become an instructor specialising in teaching aircrew sea survival.

During my time in the RAF I was lucky enough to complete a few operational tours and travel to various countries around the world, some amazing, and some not so amazing. But it was great life experience and has made me more thankful for what we have here in the UK.

I’ve always been keen to try and make a difference, especially working with young people. I was previously a Cub Scout leader working with young boys and girls helping them develop new skills and taking part in various indoor and outdoor activities. Since moving back to Essex, I decided to have a go at trying something new and when I found ‘Lads Need Dads’ and read about the incredible work they do, I just knew that I would love the opportunity to join this inspirational team.

I’m lucky to have grown up with a father, so I know the importance that has had on my life and as a father myself now with two young daughters, I’m hoping that I can provide support and help to the young lads on the programme throughout their journey, whilst making memories and having lots of fun along the way.
